ENERGO SUMMIT to present buildings with almost zero energy consumption

The third session focused on the topic “The future of Czech power engineering” will include the speech of Prof. Ing. Karel Kabele, CSc., Professor and Head of the Department of Environmental and Building Services Engineering the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) in Prague, who deals with energy systems and quality of internal environment of buildings from the viewpoint of their designing, modelling, simulation as well as optimisation and interactions of systems with the building. He is a guarantor and co-author of the study scheme “Buildings and Environment” and of the inter-faculty programme “Intelligent Buildings”. In 2007, 2011 and 2013 he was giving lectures as visiting professor at the prestigious National University of Singapore. He gave lectures also for practice at seminars and courses, and since 2014 he has been a guarantor of the ongoing education process of power engineering specialists at ČVUT. The National Calculation Tool for Determination of Energy Performance of Buildings was created under his leadership. He intensively took part in preparation of the project of the University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings of ČVUT in Prague, where he currently works as the head of the research group for internal environment of buildings in which a number of doctoral candidates and young staff members from the above mentioned department work. Since 1999 he has been the Chairman of the Society of Environmental Engineering, member of editorial boards of the magazines “Topin” and “Vytápění, větrání, instalace”, and of the international magazine “Energy and Buildings”. He is an authorised engineer and member of the Board of Directors of ČKAIT (Czech Chamber of Chartered Engineers and Technicians Engaged in Construction), a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers), a founding member and Vice Chairman of IBPSA (International Building Performance Simulation Association) - CZ and since 2013 he has been the President of the Federation of European Heating and Air-Conditioning Associations (REHVA).
