The lecture focused on the topic “Role of energy savings in the Czech power engineering industry” will be given at the ENERGO SUMMIT by Mr. Vladimír Sochor from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic

Ing. Vladimír Sochor has been working, since 2015, as the Director of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Savings at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague. He was working in a number of workplaces on operation and business positions at various levels and he acquired also professional experience from the work at a bank. At SEVEn (a consulting company active in the field of energy efficiency) he was working for the first time from 1994 to 1999. Then he was operating in two firms focused on energy services (SIEMENS and MARTIA) and after 2006 he started to work for SEVEn again. He was specialised in economic and financial analyses of projects in the area of energy efficiency and he was dealing with the funding of capital expenditures aimed at energy saving projects. During the last years at SEVEn he worked as the Economic Section Director, and at the same time he was a Senior Consultant in the field of energy savings and EPC method.  At present his effort is concentrated on a change in the approach to energy efficiency especially on the Czech stage from the position of a civil servant.
