The Director of the Climate Change Department of the Ministry of the Environment to speak at the Summit

Ing. Pavel Zámyslický, Ph.D., graduated from the Brno University of Technology; branch of heavy-current electrotechnics and power engineering; and subsequently from the Czech Technical University in Prague, branch of economy and power engineering management. In 2013, he successfully completed his doctoral studies in the field of business administration. In his master’s thesis as well as doctoral dissertation he was dealing especially with the links between trading in greenhouse gas emissions and capital expenditures in the area of power engineering. In 2005, he started to work at the Ministry of the Environment, at the Climate Change Department, where he has been working on the director’s position since 2007. Since 2011, the agenda of the department directed by him has included also the agenda of power engineering, and the department has been newly transformed to the Department of Power Engineering and Climate Protection. From a professional point of view he is focused mainly on both European and domestic climate and energy policies and their tools, which means especially trading in emissions within the EU ETS, as well as within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol. He is a leading negotiator of the Czech Republic for both international and European agendas associated with the climate policy.
